Superior Pipeline Company is a full service midstream company committed to providing unmatched services for gas gathering, compression, processing, treating, dehydration, and marketing of natural gas and natural gas liquids.
Our growing operations are located in the Texas/Oklahoma panhandle, Central/Western Oklahoma, Southeastern Oklahoma, Southeast Texas, Kansas, and Appalachia which includes Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

History
Superior Pipeline Company, LLC was formed in 1996 by Bob Parks with Unit Corporation as a partner owning 40% of the company. In July 2004, Unit Corporation acquired the remaining 60% of Superior, at which point Superior Pipeline Company, LLC became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Unit Corporation. In April 2018, Unit Corporation sold a 50% equity interest in Superior to SP Investor Holdings LLC, which is jointly owned by OPTrust and funds managed and/or advised by Partners Group, a global private markets investment manager.
In April 2023, Unit Corporation sold their remaining 50% ownership in Superior to SP Investor Holdings LLC.
Superior has grown rapidly over the years, expanding from its Oklahoma roots where it continues to operate, into operations in Texas, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Ed AlexanderChief Financial Officer and ControllerEd Alexander, Chief Financial Officer and Controller, joined Superior Pipeline Company, LLC in July 2003 and served as Director of Financial Accounting and other positions from 2003 to 2012. He served as Senior Vice President, Accounting and Administration from 2013 until his promotion to CFO and Controller in March 2022. Mr. Alexander served as Manager of Accounting for CMS Energy Company from October 1998 to June 2003. Mr. Alexander served as Manager of Financial Accounting and other positions for Continental Natural Gas from March 1989 to October 1998. Mr. Alexander began his career in the financial accounting department with Adams Affiliates from May 1984 to March 1989. Mr. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University; he is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. |

Kevin KoernerSenior Vice President, Operations and EngineeringKevin Koerner, Senior Vice President, Operations and Engineering, joined Superior Pipeline Company, LLC, in November 2005. He served as Manager of Engineering and Construction until 2010 when he was promoted to Director of Engineering. In 2014, he was promoted to Vice President, Operations and Engineering prior to his promotion to Senior Vice President in March 2022. Prior to joining Superior, Mr. Koerner was a Project Manager for The Williams Companies supporting the Midstream assets in the Four Corners and Rockies areas. Mr. Koerner started his career with Koch Industries in Wichita, KS, where he focused on EH&S compliance and corporate risk management. Mr. Koerner went on to serve in various roles for the Operations group of Koch Materials Company in Denver, CO. Mr. Koerner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (1994) and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering focused on Project Management and Economics (1995) at Oklahoma State University. |

Jim LeathersVice President, Commercial and Business DevelopmentJim Leathers, Vice President, Commercial and Business Development, joined Superior Pipeline Company, LLC in March 2008. Prior to joining Superior Pipeline, Mr. Leathers was with Devon Energy, CMS Field Services, Continental Natural Gas and Phillips Petroleum and has served in a variety of leadership roles in the natural gas and natural gas liquids industry including natural gas supply and marketing, midstream business development and midstream accounting. Jim is the current chairman of GPA Midstream’s program committee and is an active member of several industry associations. Mr. Leathers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northeastern State University with graduate studies at University of Tulsa’s college of law and is a Certified Public Accountant. |

Art SmithSenior Vice President, Superior Appalachian PipelineMr. Smith joined Superior In June of 2016 and leads Superior’s midstream business in Appalachia, Superior Appalachian Pipeline. Prior to joining Superior, Mr. Smith held senior leadership roles with the Appalachian business unit of Williams Companies Inc. Before relocating to Pennsylvania to take part in the growth of the prolific Marcellus and Utica Shales, Mr. Smith worked for several midstream companies in a variety of roles based in Denver, CO: privately held Sterling Energy, private equity-backed Cantera Natural Gas/Canyon Gas Resources, and publicly traded Energy Transfer. While In Denver, Mr. Smith had the opportunity to work across multiple basins including the Piceance, Uintah, Powder River, Niobrara-DJ, and Williston Basins. Mr. Smith began his energy career at Trigon EPC in Denver after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida. Mr. Smith also proudly served In the US Army for four years prior to college. |
