Mike Hicks

President

 

Mr. Hicks, joined Superior Pipeline Company, LLC in April 2013 as Vice President of Operations. In December 2014, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations and Engineering. In June 2019, he was promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer, and effective April 1, 2020, he became President. Prior to joining Superior, Mr. Hicks worked as the Executive Vice President – Operations for Aka Energy Group from 2011 to 2013. He was the President of Frontier Field Services from 2005 to 2011 and Lumen Midstream Services from 2007 to 2011, both owned by the Aka Energy Group, which is part of the Southern Ute Growth Fund. He was the Director of Operations for Frontier Energy from 2003 to 2005, a privately owned, private equity based company. He was the Director of Operations and Engineering from 2000 to 2003 for CMS Field Services. He began his career in 1988 until 2000 as a plant engineer, maintenance engineer, process and project engineer, operations supervisor, plant manager, and area manager for Warren Petroleum (1988 – 1997) and Dynegy (1997 – 2000), after Dynegy bought Warren from Chevron. Mr. Hicks earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Tulsa in 1988.

Bill Ward

Senior Vice President of Commercial Activity

 

Bill Ward, Senior Vice President of Commercial Activity, joined Superior Pipeline Company, LLC in February 2008. Prior to joining Superior, he completed a ten-year career with Devon Gas Services, formerly Mitchell Gas Services, in the positions of Director of Business Development Central Region and Manager of Gas Marketing for the Rocky Mountain, Gulf Coast and West Texas Regions. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Ward was Manager of Intrastate Gathering and Storage for Burlington Resources. Mr. Ward started his career in the gas industry in 1985 with Rockland Pipeline Company in the capacity of Director of Gas Supply and Business Development and Vice President of CanRock Pipeline Company. Mr. Ward serves as the Chairman of the Board of the GPA Midstream Association (GPAMA) and Executive Board Member and officer of the Texas Pipeline Association (TPA). Mr. Ward holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Sam Houston State University and further studies in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Houston.

Ed Alexander

Senior Vice President, Accounting and Administration

 

Ed Alexander, Senior Vice President, Accounting and Administration for Superior Pipeline Company, LLC, has served in his current capacity since January 2018. Mr. Alexander joined Superior Pipeline Company, LLC in July 2003 and served as Director of Financial Accounting and other positions with Superior Pipeline Company, LLC from July 2003 to December 2017. Mr. Alexander served as Manager of Accounting for CMS Energy Company from October 1998 to June 2003. Mr. Alexander served as Manager of Financial Accounting and other positions for Continental Natural Gas from March 1989 to October 1998. Mr. Alexander began his career in the financial accounting department with Adams Affiliates from May 1984 to March 1989. Mr. Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University; he is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.

Kevin Koerner

Vice President, Operations

 

Kevin Koerner, Vice President, Operations, joined Superior Pipeline Company, LLC, in November 2005 as Manager of Engineering and Construction. Prior to joining Superior, Mr. Koerner was a Project Manager for The Williams Companies supporting the Midstream assets in the Four Corners and Rockies areas. Mr. Koerner started his career with Koch Industries in Wichita, KS, where he focused on EH&S compliance and corporate risk management. Mr. Koerner went on to serve in various roles for the Operations group of Koch Materials Company in Denver, CO. Mr. Koerner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (1994) and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering focused on Project Management and Economics (1995) at Oklahoma State University.

Art Smith

Senior Vice President – Superior Appalachian Pipeline

 

Mr. Smith joined Superior In June of 2016 and leads Superior’s midstream business in Appalachia, Superior Appalachian Pipeline. Prior to joining Superior, Mr. Smith held senior leadership roles with the Appalachian business unit of Williams Companies Inc. Before relocating to Pennsylvania to take part in the growth of the prolific Marcellus and Utica Shales, Mr. Smith worked for several midstream companies in a variety of roles based in Denver, CO: privately held Sterling Energy, private equity-backed Cantera Natural Gas/Canyon Gas Resources, and publicly traded Energy Transfer. While In Denver, Mr. Smith had the opportunity to work across multiple basins including the Piceance, Uintah, Powder River, Niobrara-DJ, and Williston Basins. Mr. Smith began his energy career at Trigon EPC in Denver after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Florida. Mr. Smith also proudly served In the US Army for four years prior to college.
